An inspiration head board......Love the colors and design and all.....
My grandparents bed from 1930 has seen better days.
I was going to buy a bed I had seen that was very simular in style, age etc.
But now I have decided to save the money and repurpose and give new life to my grandparents
old head and foot boards.
The goal is to merge the two pieces that are for a full sized bed into one headboard for
a King size bed.
I think it can be done and I have a plan as long as the carpenter aka Hubby can
do it.
Then I will do the painting etc. on it.
So one of these Met Mondays I will be using this one for that kind of post.
I like the detail of the curved or scalloped molding around the edge of the headboard.
But once upon a time in a move it lost one finial, so I might replace that or all of them.
Hopefully I can reproduce some of the detailed affects in

As long as the carpenter co-operates, no reason it shouldn't turn out exactly the way you envision the expanded version. Wish I'd thought of this before I gave away the head- and foot board of my own parents' bed!
