Tablescape Thursday...the beginning of Fall.

Time for Tablescape Thursday, thanks to our hostess Susan at
Be sure and check out her blog for other tablescape posters this week!

The beginning of Fall...
when dusting and cleaning the house this week I decided it was time for a bit of Fall
color.  Our weather has been changing and sure feeling like Fall lately, which I am not ready for yet, how about you?!
So the formal dining room got a cleaning and transformation.
(Click on any photo to enlarge)

I even changed out my buffet lamp shades and the shades on the chandelier.
I started by criss crossing these pretty patterned table runners on the table. I found them
and thought they would be good for this time of year. I also bought some matching napkins.
I found them at Marshalls.

I layered the table setting starting with some copper colored charges I got last year.
I used our green handled flatware, also a Marshalls find.

I used the B brand Salad plates for some texture and for some added white in the mixture.

I put these on top of our everyday dinner plates by 222 Fifth brand in
the Lutece pattern, I love these dishes they seem to go with everything.

For stemware I used some green mercury glass water goblets I got on sale at Dillards a couple years ago.
And wine goblets were some my mother gave me many years ago they have sort of a peachy reddish stem to them.
I topped the chargers, dinner and salad plates off with the napkins and crowned them
with some leaf bowls ; large ones by Olfaire and small ones by Pottery Barn.
The large ones I found at Marshalls and the small ones I actually found like new at a thrift store.

For the centerpiece; I used a leafy topiary, a fleur de lis statuary piece and a mossy looking statuary
of a cherub under a tall cloche in a silver plated ice bucket.

I like the touch of green it adds some bright spots to the dark red and other fall colors.

I think we are ready to have friends over for dinner, don't you?!

On the side board I added a large flower arrangement in a crystal vase that my son gave me for
Mother's Day one year.

Also added another artichoke shaped statuary and some colorful faux pears
under a glass cloche in a silver plate bowl.
All of them resting on a silver plated serving tray.
So with that all said,
Let Fall Begin!

Hi...

I am back to thank you for stopping by my blog.

How long since you moved here? Is your accent more british or american? My darling Brit has been here for nearly 14 years and still has his accent though when he goes home, his mother thinks he is losing it. He grew up in Stevenage but his mother lives in Grantham now.

Thanks again for stopping by. Hope to hear more from you!
