Before..... a little nightstand chest I found at a garage sale for $20 this Summer.
It was needing some TLC and a redo.
It had seen better days.
(Click on any photo to enlarge and see closer)
It had something like glue or nail polish spilled and stuck to the top.
Now painted black, it serves as a silver chest in the dining room.
My grandparents silver plate flatware set and it's box fit perfectly inside,
as well as being storage for other serving things.
I still have to get a couple replacement screws for the hardware and replace
I still have to get a couple replacement screws for the hardware and replace
one side, as one was missing when I got it.
I also brushed the front hardware with gold over the black to accent it again.
I had to sand this a second time at one point as my first gallon of black
paint was bad or something. It had little clumps of paint in it which were being
left behind on the surface.
that I really like.
Now with it's new paint job it fits in with the dining room much better!
Goes with my ebony antique pieces in here now.

That has the prettiest shape. Looks great all black and I envy your ability to add detailing. Sooo beautiful.
My husband just brought something similar home he found upside down in the rain by the curb... I gotta redo mine too... Mighty nice Royal Touch on that little French piece.
