Tablescape Thursday....Red, White and 50 all over!!

Tis time for Tablescape Thursday thanks to our ever lovely hostess Susan at, http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/,
Please check out her wonderful blog as well as see who else is posting this week for tablescape Thursday! Always so fun to see!
And if you stop by my blog , in honor of this older Queen, consider yourself crowned and take the
following picture and paste it on your blog.
For you all are royalty in my eyes and worthy of some crowning glory!!

Almost 50 years ago this week I was born in jolly ol'England.
So I needed a bit of a English bling theme for my birthday table.
None of that gag 50 black stuff for me!
So here goes........

How appropriate, it is the 50th tablescape and I did my 50th
Birthday tablescape this week!!
With the lights down low, here I go,
turning 50 in just a day or so.
So why not party with all the bling,
as I am the Queen and dear hubby the King.
Ye thou tis only our own castle we rule,
still it is the place we can be cool!
So bring on my cake, some candles and a song!
Cause I want to party all night,
show that at 50 I am still going strong!! LOL

(Click on any photos to enlarge)
The place settings consist of some cool chargers with rhinestones all around the edge that I bought myself as an early birthday gift. Found them at Michaels in the Halloween things that are already coming out. Also threw out some more bling in the form of some diamond scatters and some red votives that were thrift store finds.
Some red, black and white plates I had ( they don't look as orangey red in person either), my red handled flatware, black and red stemware ( I already had) ; English scene dessert plates, black napkins and red placesmats ( all these from Marshalls at different times).
Napkin rings or enhancements are prism tassels or ornaments found at Michaels along time ago in the $1 bin.

I found these darling little dessert plates with an England scene on them of
Big Ben. So they were a fun addition and reminded me of my English roots.

For the centerpiece I used another charger on top of a black pedestal stand for height.
Then I used my large cloche over some red faux flowers, some diamond bling scatters, a framed photo of me as a child and some more bling in the form of some tiaras inside.

The table all decked out for the birthday bash.
Red is the color of the day!

Even the sideboard got decorated for the party.
Some blingy letters and ribbon accent the mirror, my initials.
And some favorite dolls in red from my collection, a bit of greenery in a
champagne bucket and I even changed the buffet lamp shades back to my favorite red!

One of my old fashioned dollies in red holding a little beefeater doll from England that some
friends brought back from England for me years ago.

View of the whole room.
And now off to bed because us Queen's when we get a bit older
need more beauty
sleep!

I love your color scheme... oh gosh I used to have Beefeater dolls like that! I was born in England 46 yrs ago in Oct ;-) I lived there for 34 yrs til I moved to the US with my sweet hubby who was serving in the USAF at the time (that's how we met, he was stationed in England).
Did you live in England long? I still feel very 'English' although I do have US citizenship now.
It's so nice to meet you and see your tablescape. I just did one for the very first time today :)
Hugs Denise

Hi Linda! Just hopping from tablescape to tablescape, appreciating them more and more with every one I see. I do not participate, but aspire to someday, perhaps! (0; I loved your post today, and the dolls you showed are just BEAUTIFUL. Dolls have always held a very special place in my heart!.. Loved all your color and bling.. but most especially your attitude for the "milestone" you now reach! I am soon approaching that milestone myself, in a few years, and I must admit I rather avoid the thought as best I can! But it does my heart good to see you celebrate as I'm SURE everyone certainly SHOULD! When my 50th comes along, I think I'm going to WEAR RED!!.. Red heels, red rubies, etc, etc!! (0; Happy Birthday to you!.. and many happy returns! ~tina
