Tablescape Thursday......would you like a glass of wine?

Time for Tablescape Thursday......more fun tables to view and enjoy, thanks to Susan at ,Between Naps on the Porch blog ( see my side bar for link, program not letting me copy and paste for some reason?) .
Be sure and check out her great blog , her gloriously yummy home photos and see this weeks posters for Tablescape Thursday!

Oh I know you must be sick of seeing my formal dining room by now.
So I will get real creative next week, so watch out.....
This week I did a slight variation on the last tablescape.
The last one was black , white and green.
So why not do black , white and red with a wine theme.
I will make my famous Lasagna, a great salad, some good bread with olive oil and perhaps
some baked pears for dessert or would you rather have my famous baked cheesecake?!
Have a seat....I will pour you a glass of HOGUE Cellars Merlot, nice wine.
Dim the lights and light the candles.....
( Click on any photo to enlarge and see close up)

For the place settings I did my Hayride Coupe Black and Cream transfer ware on the bottom, followed by grape patterned wine red Pinneiro salad plates( that I found at the thrift store for $1 each when shopping with Mishelle, from The Crowned Casa blog) and then Duncan Miller grape milk glass bowls, black stemmed wine glasses , wine red crystal water goblets, Grandparents silver flatware. Linens are wine red place mats from Marshalls ( I just got some brown ones like these today there too), black linen napkins I found on sale in town. And I wish I had some grape patterned napkin rings!!

Duncan Miller grape patterned milk glass covered butter dish but in this
case since we are having wine, use it as a cheese server.

Center piece is a statuary I had on top of a vintage silver grape bowl used for it's base, a good bottle of Hogue Cellars wine to have with dinner and a topiary in one of my Duncan Miller grape patterned milk glass pieces.

You are probably so so tired of seeing our dining room by now!!
I will try to do the next one in the bedroom, hey why not? a romantic dinner for two, tee hee.
John Travolta says that he does that for him and his wife.

I used some of my milk glass Duncan Miller grape patterned dishes for serving pieces
and for the bowls. It is a heavy thick glassware and has a really detailed pattern to it.
Duncan Miller quit business in 1955, so these dishes are older than me!

The table is all set for dinner, come and get it!

The buffet in candlelight.
I still have a hard time getting good photos in the dark, lol!

Nothing like dining by candlelight with some good friends, good music,
good food and some good wine.
I would recommend this bottle of Dunham Cellars 2005 Trutina!
In college I worked for one of the now owners of Dunham Cellars. In my Interior Decorating
classes our class helped redecorate his home and then through my professor I also got
hired on the side to clean house for him.
I did that in my early teen years and while going to college,
house keeper for several families.

Buffet done with milk glass candlesticks, some faux greenery, a good book on wine,
some corks and other wine accents.

GORGEOUS LINDA! GORGEOUS! I don't know what I love more. Of course, the profusion of red is so so great, glamorous, very very nice. It's perfect - just like I knew it would be. Great job!

Such a gorgeous tablescape, and no I am not tired of seeing your pretty dining room. It is so pretty. Using the milk glass pieces as your accent pieces is just beautiful. All of the dishes are gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

Oh yes maam, I will have a nice glass of the wine. We've been known to drink from goblets the size of a small goldfish bowl here in the South after a stressful day.
So Cheers to you Linda and to that lovely and layered tablescape.
