I ran away to Anacortes WA. ........want to go with me?! Part 1

Well I had a fun day running away from home.
Ron was working and I could have stayed home to clean
a bathroom or something but what fun would that have been.
There are always those things to do!!
And I wanted to go someplace I had not been in a long time,
so I chose Anacortes WA.
While it was cold, grey and semi rainy when I left home, I drove into warmer and sunshine, so that was nice also.
I started out at Left Bank Antiques when I got there, it is
an old church turned antique mall. They go to Europe a couple times of year to get things.
The two things I wanted to bring home were this little toile covered screen ( left) and this ornate iron headboard!!!
( Be sure and click on any photo to enlarge and see things closer it is worth it)

They have alot of cool things outdoors too.

Alot of neat smalls like glass wasp catchers and big glass french cloches. Check out this big and ornate bedroom set below right.

Everywhere I went I saw old toile and screens. I have screens on the brain now.
These old etched glass doors were amazing and I thought of all sorts of things you could do with them!

And of course my eye spied birdcages, love them even when
they are all beat up!

Alter area of the old church. Stuffed with all sorts of things.
( Be sure and click on any photo to enlarge and see closer)

Another antique mall I went to is Alley Cat Antiques.
There were fun things here and you would be proud of me for all my
resisting that I did, LOL!

And here again another screen, I so loved this one!! I want to make my own
now with this idea . Cover it with linen and stencil it. It was about 4-5 panels wide.

Another bird cage and this one Soooo made me think of Cindy at My Romantic Home, doesn't it?!

This sellers space was very French victorian, look at this cottagey hand painted bed set, amazing!

And she had pretty laces, dishes and all in here.

Then besides antique shops I also had time to check out some other amazing looking gift and decore stores.
This was a favorite, reminded me somewhat of Gatherings in Marysville.
This gal had a great eye, nice displays, things I have never seen other places.
Wish I had taken more photos for you.

Then another amazing Interior Design/Furniture store, owner Steve Hurley at Island Home Collection was so fun to chat with. I should have taken more photos here too but he does have
I just loved his store wall treatment and alot of the unique accessories he had in the store.
His desk in the store was a baby grand piano with the insides taken out I believe.
Anyway, it was fun to get away and feel the sun on my face between shopping.
Tomorrow I will show what I did come home with.
If I had been richer the car would have been packed!!LOL

The bird cage was cool but the bed was wonderful. I love to go to places even if I don't buy. I could look all day long at the goodies. Thanks for the trip. Kathy
