Christmas is only days away and almost here.
Time to spend with those we hold dear!
To gaze at children’s faces, all gleaming with joy,
Because they received that wished for toy.
To gather and share the love that was first given,
When God brought down his son from heaven.
To remember the days of the year that has past
And cherish every good memory, that they might last.
To sit around the table and pray over a great fare.
To give thanks for it all to God, show him we care.
To enjoy the moments with family, friends and all.
No matter how silly, no matter how small.
To call on the phone and wish those that we love,
Blessings in the New Year from God above.
And when it is all done, bows here and there,
Tape and wrapping paper stuck in the dog’s hair.
The leftovers wrapped up for tomorrow’s lunch treat,
Family members gone home, driving down the street.
Let us rejoice in it all and be thankful with tear.
That God blessed us all with this Christmas and another year!!
