Time for yet again another fun Metamorphosis Monday...
thanks to our hostess Susan at http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/
for hosting us each week.
I found this interesting coffee table recently and a thrift store, only $12.
I had thought it would be something I would redo and sell in our shop space but
then I decided I liked it for our family room.
Really nice heavy piece, has rod iron legs or base and nice wood top that actually is folded in half here.
It folds open and turns to be double it's size.
One reason I thought it would be nice to keep and use for when we entertain in our family room.
The top had seen better times , been roughed up a bit but the inside wood is still really nice.
So I gave the legs or base a fresh coat of Flat Black spray paint.
then I decided to use up some light tan paint I had in a quart on the top, leaving it sort of
distressed. But I can tell I have a bit more work to do on it.
I will need to have my sanding helper aka Hubby do a once over on the top and then repaint it again,
so the color gets into the grain a bit.
But the size and height are just right in our family room, so I like it so far.
As one of anniversary presents I have new lamps coming for this room and their bases will look
good with the base of this table.
So I think it will all work.
Then someday a new sofa etc. hopefully!
