Tablescape Thursday.......a Swan song!

Hi, it is time for Tablescape Thursday , thanks to Susan at
Be sure and check out her great blog and see who else is setting a fabulous
Tablescape this week!

I admittedly have been away and trying to get back to my blogging regulars.
Busy time of year around the Queen Castle and only to get busier with some Summer fun and projects.
This week I am doing a tablescape I have had the idea for for awhile.
In honor of the snow geese and swans that regularly visit and Winter over in our Northwest fields.

I did an all black and cream theme.
I even changed out the chandelier and buffet lamp shades to black ones I have.
( Click on any photo to enlarge and see closer)

The center piece of the table sort of sets the theme, my ceramic goose or swan.
It is a piece I have used at Christmas too for centerpieces.

He is a regal fellow and he is setting on my new found silver plated
cake stand.

The place setting; Martha Stewart toile place mats and napkins from Macys,
maternal grandparent's silver flatware, Lenox crystal water glasses, thrift store wine glasses with black stems, Creative Tops English black and white toile dinnerware, Mary Carol home collection plates with black rims, and hand made porcelain napkin rings.

I tried folding the napkins in the napkin rings to look like swans them selves.
I left them sort of open on the large end, which would be fun to put a little gift in for guests etc.

I like this bold black and cream toile pattern on the napkins and place mats.
When I saw them I knew that I wanted to get some, would be pretty to add red or yellow to
them as well. Very versatile!

The textural layer of the dinnerware;
I put Mary Carol Home Collection textured patterned plates on top of
my toile dinnerware.
These are great as they have the highly detailed edge with birds and plants etc. trimmed
out by the black edge.
I have salad and muffin plates in these.

They go well with my Creative Tops English china in the black and white toile.
I wish now that I had bought more of these.
These also have a bird and floral theme to them.

I added some black and silver candle sticks I got at the thrift store.
I like the three different heights they come in.
Also used my grandparents antler handled carving set like an accent, although it can be used to
carve the "bird" too.

I added some silver nut dishes with candles for more candlelight.

Are we ready for dinner by candlelight?
I am!

I added some cream and silver accents to the buffet also.
Like a milk glass swan dish, some cream colored tulips under a cloche set on top
of a silver ice bucket, etc.

The buffet with accessories to hopefully compliment the dinner table.
Now time to fly away and prepare the meal for this Tablescape!
Maybe a chicken dish is in order?!

OH, what an amazing table! I am wondering how on earth I missed this. But I'm so glad you came to my blog because it lead me back here to this glorious job you did! Swans are some of my favorite animals, and that centerpiece is stunning. You did a great job, Linda!

And if you come to Florida, I will throw a pink party just for you!
