Tablescape Thursday...what comes first, the chicken or the birthday gifts.

Time for our ever fun Tablescape Thursday and I am going to try to see more of them this week.
Be sure and stop by Susan's blog at,http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ , our great hostess and see the other bloggers who are joining in this week.

I sort of threw this together today. I wanted to use some of my new things I got for
birthday gifts and do a color scheme around them.
So reds are the color of the day!
(Click on photos to enlarge and see closer)

The place setting is my Old Britain Castles transfer ware layered with Harry & David rooster & chicken transfer ware dessert or luncheon plates. I used my pinky red glasses I found at a garage sale, 4 for $2 and my red handled flatware that I love.

The center of the table is some of my roosters and chickens from around the kitchen.
And some red pears on a pretty Harry & David transfer bread tray I bought
at the same time I got the dessert or luncheon plates.

The kitchen and table with the lights down low.
Our kitchen is small but cozy. I like being able to eat in the kitchen also.

I found this cute pottery Momma hen a couple years ago
in an antique mall. She was only $8 and she wanted to come live at our house!!
I want to find a nest her size for her to set in, I think that would be darling.

My good friend Marilyn in CA. gave me the pretty place mats, rose napkin rings
and the napkins
for part of my birthday gifts this month.
I love all of them!

And above view, I love red of almost any shade, always makes
me happy!

I love your cozy kitchen! And I love your rooster dishes, usually they are so colorful, I loved that yours were red, but it looked so soft and muted.
Everything was beautiful!
All the best,
Eileen

Hi Linda,
I was a bit nosy and looked around your kitchen and I LOVE IT! I've never really been a red person, but over the past few months, I've grown to really love it! And your tablesetting is further proof that it is so fresh and happy! I love the reds you've put together and with the whites, it's just gorgeous!
Enjoy your weekend!
