Tablescape Thursday.....a little French Sanctuary!

Time for our ever fun and popular Tablescape Thursday!
Thanks to our fabulous hostess Susan for bringing it to us each week!
Be sure and check our her great blog and see what other tablescapers are up

This week I was not up to snuff for several reasons, so I needed a bit of ME and sanctuary time!
So I set up a little French Tea Party or Wine Party in a favorite space in the living room!
There is a place for you if you would like to join me!
This is my room to read and relax in,the stereo is here to listen to music , it has no TV and gets the afternoon sunlight.
( Click on any photo to enlarge)
The round side table in the bay window is the perfect spot.
Set with some favorite things.
Some little art work and old family heirlooms add a touch too.

For the place settings I used these old Fleur de Lis decorated china luncheon sets I found
in my travels ( got 4 sets of plates and cups for $8.99 for all), my little gold tea sugar spoons, some vintage napkins with my fleur de lis napkin rings and some Biltmore crystal wine glasses.

Perfect place to have a tete-a-tete over a glass of wine and some
tres petite hors d'oeuvres.

And while there can read up on my French Impressionist art.
I got this really good pretty book at the Seattle Art Museum when I went to
the Impressionists exhibit with my son last year. It was so fabulous!

This is a favorite reading spot for me. The ottoman is recovered but was
my grandparents.

Comfy, cozy and a bit like a French cafe but indoors!
Bon Appetit!

Hi Linda...

Ohhh my...what a lovely tea you have set! I love the idea of doing this some place different...like in your living room! I'm going to have to do this as well...I always get stuck in the rut of doing everything in our dining room! I think that your beautiful living room gives a very special ambiance! And...I love anything and everything French! Your dishes are fabulous...ahhhh...fleur de lis! Sooo very beautiful, my friend!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

Oh Linda, I love it. I had an opportunity to buy some plates that had a beautiful charcoal colored fluer du lis on the rim and I didn't ... now you're making me regret that! What a beautiful french inspired tea time tablescape (say that 10 times fast!) When should I be there?

How pretty Linda!
Oh I want a fruitcup to nibble on right now.

My blog re-design was done by "Amber" at "The Shabbee Chick". She is wonderful!
She's fast and so easy to work with. Her button is at the very bottom of my blog's narrow column.
Just click on it and it will take you to hers.
Then click on "Portfolio" and you can view examples of her work.
I highly recommend her!
Thank you soooo much for the compliment on mine.

Thanks for asking about my parents. They are doing very well!
Their 48th wedding anniversary was yesterday.

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.
~Melissa :)
