Met Monday........Black and White always takes away the blue(s)!

Time for Metamorphosis Monday!
Thank you Susan for being our hostess.
Be sure and check out Susan's great blog at,http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/,
for more Met Monday posts and just to read her fun blog too!

Before......this first photo an old one, when I first got this little desk I traded a
friend something for. Sorry about photo, this was taken with my old camera.
When I got this little desk was all white and blue.
I am not a blue girl, so of course this had to change.
( Click on photos to enlarge)

I started by getting all the outside painted antique white like our bedroom furniture.
So far this little desk has lived in that room but I had not finished the insides.
That was something good to work on today, on a lazy but busy Sunday.
Also because I have decided this desk will go in my craft room when we get that started
this year. And that is going to be white and black with probably some red or else some green.
Here is the inside top Before........
After......
Outside doors got some black fleur de lis painted on them.

And the inside and shelf got all painted in antique white. The insets of the doors got painted
with chalkboard paint, so I can write notes or ideas on them. ( Couldn't find my
chalk tonight to test write and also to season the paint with!)
Then I lined the back wall with black and white damask wrapping/craft paper I got
at my ever favorite store Joyworks.
Simple trick here, I used double stick tape, so that the paper can be changed easier if
I ever want to.
I think it turned out well, what do you think?
And it definitely took away the blue(s)!
Now to finish the bottom desk inside, next week maybe!

Linda, this is my kind of Meta makeover! Very French and I LOVE It! The chalk paint in the inside of the doors is so creative, and totally practical if the desk is being used for certain functions. Love it. Great job! ~CC Catherine

Sweet! Love that transformation. You just can't beat black and white....what is it about it that makes things sophistocated(sp?), classy, and just good-looking?! Linda

Fabulous! I love the chalkboard paint on the inside doors. I need to get me some chalkboard paint. I also love the paper on the back. Good idea using the double stick tape so you can change it out. You know how we girls love to change our minds.
