On a recent visit home to Walla Walla WA. I also had the chance to go
through Waitsburg WA.
One place I have always wanted to see is the Bruce Memorial Museum there.
This time I still was on a short time limit, so only saw part of it but hope to go back.
It is amazing and has been well taken care of, restored and you feel as if you
have stepped back in time in this glorious home.
I would highly recommend seeing it if you are in that part of Washington state.
More of about the history of Waistburg in the link above.
Waitsburg is the home of the Bruce Memorial Museum. Built by pioneers Wiliam Perry and Caroline Bruce in 1883, and now featured on the National Register of Historic Places, the house has been carefully restored by the Waitsburg Historical Society and is now operated as a museum. Waitsburg is unique for at least one other reason. Founded in 1865, the town government is the only one in Washington state still operating under the terms of its original territorial charter.
This elegant Victorian mansion, built in 1883 by William P. and Caroline Bruce, has been completely restored and furnished by the Waitsburg Historical Society.
The wall paper in the entry hall is original to the home.
